Microsoft has announced Platform SSO registration during Automated Device Enrollment on macOS for Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Entra.
The feature allows users to sign in with their Microsoft Entra account during Setup Assistant, complete registration before reaching the desktop, and get access to work resources sooner, provided the deployment uses a compatible Company Portal version.
Why It Matters
Mac management often becomes inconsistent when enrollment, identity, and first sign-in happen in separate steps. Bringing registration into the setup flow can make corporate-owned Mac deployment cleaner and easier to support.
For businesses with mixed Windows and Mac estates, this is another reason to treat Intune as a cross-platform management plane rather than only a Windows device tool.
