Microsoft has announced new Surface devices built for business and AI acceleration.
The announcement focuses on Secured-core PCs, firmware updates through Windows Update, a software-driven integrated privacy screen on selected Surface Laptop for Business configurations, on-device AI capability, Windows AI APIs, Foundry platform support, Intune management, Windows Autopilot, and Surface Management Portal lifecycle controls.

Business device selection is now tied to AI readiness, security, repairability, and manageability. A laptop is not just a local productivity tool if it is expected to support Copilot+ PC features, secure firmware, remote provisioning, and long-term lifecycle management.
For Microsoft-centred organisations, the key planning point is whether new devices can be enrolled, secured, patched, and recovered through Intune and Autopilot from day one.
