Ubiquiti has introduced an all-new UniFi Design Center, reworking its planning tool for Wi-Fi, camera, rack, and site deployments.
The update includes a digital twin configurator, real-time access point and camera placement, coverage simulation, connectivity mapping, Site Manager integration, generated documentation, 3D visualisation, mobile LiDAR scanning, and camera field-of-view planning.
Why It Matters
Good site technology starts before the first access point or camera is installed. Floorplans, mounting locations, cable routes, switch ports, PoE budgets, coverage expectations, and documentation all affect the outcome.
Design tools do not replace a proper site survey, but they make planning easier to explain, review, and hand over. That is especially useful when a business needs Wi-Fi, CCTV, switching, and routing to be planned as one system.
