UniFi Talk 5.2 Refines Phone UX and Call Management

Ubiquiti has announced UniFi Talk 5.2, with changes aimed at making phone deployment, daily use, and administrator workflows smoother.

The update focuses on a redesigned phone interface, clearer audio, multi-line call handling, upgraded smart attendant options, call queueing, recording, optional transcription, and access to Protect and Access controls from UniFi phones.

Why It Matters

For businesses that already use UniFi networking or cameras, Talk may be attractive because it brings phones into the same management ecosystem. The important question is whether the voice requirements are straightforward enough for the platform and whether number porting, call recording policy, queue design, and backup connectivity are covered.

The integration story is useful, but voice is still operationally sensitive. Any move to a new phone system should include call flow testing and a rollback plan.
